Emma Sakyiwa Amponsah is a dedicated and passionate lawyer assisting clients throughout Alberta and Canada.
Before law school, Emma obtained a Bachelor of Pharmacy and Practiced as a Principal Pharmacist where she learnt Practice Management. Emma received her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of London. Emma then attained her Master of Law (LLM) from Cyprus University. She further attained her Professional Law Course and was enrolled as a Barrister and Solicitor in the Republic of Ghana (West Africa). Emma gained experience in Immigration Law.
Emma then went through the re-qualification process and was Called to the Canadian Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor in Alberta, Canada.
Emma completed her articles in Calgary, Alberta. She gained vast experience in Immigration Law. After articling, Emma worked as an associate focusing on Immigration Law and Criminal Law.
Emma then took up a position as a Crown Prosecutor with the Alberta Crown Prosecution Services (Government of Alberta) where she gained valuable experience in Criminal Law. Emma prepared for and conducted numerous Trials (during which she engaged with Police officers, investigators, witnesses, Defence Lawyers and the Court) and conducted Docket court (which included Dispositions, Sentence negotiation with Defence Counsel, Joint and Contested Sentencing, Bail hearings, making Applications in Court such as Fitness to Stand Trial/NCR, 486.2 Counsel application, and Publication Ban.
